A Devotional
"Remember this: the person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart - not out of regret or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver!" 2 Cor 9:6-7
How do you feel when you give your offering at church or toss some change into the pot by the bell-ringing Santa at Christmas time? Does anyone knock at your door or meet you at your car in a parking lot asking for money to take care of their families? God loves a cheerful giver and I want to be that kind of giver! This is my solution: when we receive our income, I set aside a certain percentage, whatever amount God has challenged us to use to bless others, into an envelope marked “Giving”. I keep it in my purse, right next to the “Groceries” envelope. During the month God always brings people into my life that could use some help, and I can joyfully pull out some from this envelope to bless them and myself. It becomes a real joy to give! It feels like “free” money because it has already been designated for this purpose. It brings me joy as I look forward to blessing others financially. If you don’t know this joy, why don’t you give it a try?
Look what surprised us from Fed Ex today - multiple balls, two air pumps, and toys for Kid's Club! Thank you, Debbie! You are blessing many! I know God is enjoying this surprise!
